Many people have tried multiple treatments without finding lasting relief, leaving them worried that something more serious—such as a tumour—could be causing their symptoms.
Any of these symptoms may result from a damaged jaw joint. When the soft tissue disc between the jaw and the skull bone is damaged. Damaged jaw joint soft tissue, leads to inflammation and pain.
Your jaw joint is locked inside your head (situated in front of your left and right ear canals). When the joint is damaged, inflammation and pain may spread via the facia to:
-
any point of the face and head radiating from the damaged jaw joint capsule;
-
the ear causing blocked/fullness or tinnitus symptoms
-
the eyes and forehead causing headache symptom
-
the side of the head causing headaches and sometimes migraine symptoms
-
the tongue causing swelling;
-
the fascial planes of the face, contributing to discomfort beyond the joint itself;

-
the lower back of the head close to the upper spine cause pain symptoms

-
teeth (in the absence of decay or bad nerves)

-
neck and shoulder pain. Chewing and pulling head forward leads to the trapezius muscles pulling head back.

We check your bite
T-Scan is a digital dental technology that measures the exact timing, force, and balance of a patient's bite. Unlike traditional articulating paper, which only shows where teeth touch, T-Scan provides actionable, quantifiable data so we can pinpoint harmful bite forces and adjust TMJ issues with precision.

Dr Tom's Mouth Orthotics
These are not your everyday splints. Dr Tom's Mouth Orthotics allow your jaw to slide whilst relieving pain to your TMJ at your correct position.

Trigger point therapy and pulse therapy
They are effective treatments for TMJ disorders. Trigger point therapy focuses on relieving muscle tension and pain by targeting specific trigger points in the jaw and surrounding areas.
Pulse therapy, on other hand, utilises low-frequency electrical pulses to help reduce inflammation and promote restoration in the affected tissues. Together, these therapies can provide significant relief and improve the overall function of the jaw.

Dr Tom's TMJ Mate
Dr Tom has designed and manufactured his own fascia release tool that you can use to relieve muscle and jaw tension, promote lymphatic drainage and aid healing.
